Home solar advice for Kenya

Buy the right home solar system—not the most convincing quote.

Understand what your system should power, how long the battery should last, what each component does and whether the proposed price and scope make sense before you pay a deposit.

Home solar applications

Design around the outcome—not a generic package.

A household may need backup, bill reduction, water services or security. Each objective changes the system architecture and budget.

Power continuity

Essential-load backup

Keep priority circuits operating during outages without oversizing the system around every appliance in the house.

  • Lighting
  • Wi-Fi and phones
  • Television and laptops
  • Selected refrigeration
Energy savings

Reduce grid consumption

Use solar production during the day and allocate battery capacity strategically instead of relying on the battery for every load.

  • Daytime appliances
  • Refrigeration
  • Home-office loads
  • Water pumps
Safety and convenience

Security lighting and CCTV

Improve compound visibility and surveillance without adding unnecessary night-time electricity consumption.

  • Solar floodlights
  • Solar streetlights
  • Solar CCTV
  • Common-area lighting
Water-energy nexus

Pumping and hot-water solutions

Assess pump duty, water demand and heating requirements before selecting a solar pump, water heater or heat-pump solution.

  • Borehole pumping
  • Storage and pressure systems
  • Solar water heating
  • Heat pumps
How the process works

From uncertainty to a supplier-ready decision.

The process is designed to separate technical need from sales pressure.

1

Define the outcome

Clarify whether your priority is backup, savings, security, water services or a combination.

2

Assess real loads

Review appliances, wattage, operating hours, electricity bills and future additions.

3

Size and specify

Determine the inverter, battery, solar array, protection and installation requirements.

4

Compare and implement

Use the specification to assess quotations and select a suitable implementation route.

Structured homeowner enquiry

Tell us what you need the system to do.

Complete the form and WhatsApp will open with a structured message. Attach your existing quotation in the chat where applicable.

Your appliances and priorities are more useful than the number of bedrooms.
Your electricity bill helps indicate consumption, but it is not a complete load assessment.
Your required backup time has a direct effect on battery capacity and cost.
You will receive the appropriate next-step recommendation based on the information supplied.

Frequently asked questions

Home solar questions, answered clearly.

The system must be sized from the appliances you want to power, their wattage, operating hours, required backup duration, daytime consumption and planned expansion. House size alone is not sufficient.
It can reduce grid consumption significantly when the system is correctly designed and used, but the result depends on the load profile, system capacity, battery strategy, weather, tariffs and user behaviour. A zero bill should not be promised without a detailed assessment.
A quote audit reviews an existing supplier proposal. A system design starts from your loads and objectives, then defines the system specification before suppliers quote.
Expansion is possible when the inverter, battery architecture, charge limits, panel configuration and electrical design allow it. Future expansion should be discussed during the design stage.
Installation and equipment supply may be provided through Strabox or an approved partner after the advisory stage. The relationship and applicable terms are disclosed, and you remain free to use another qualified installer.
Many early-stage reviews and designs can begin remotely. A site assessment may be required before final installation to confirm roof space, cable routes, distribution boards, earthing, shading and structural or access constraints.
